Hello, I am Mary Allan, 2001 California Teacher of the Year. As a retired Teacher and Educational Professional, my greatest contribution to education has been to bring out the best in both children and adults, and to facilitate a process through which they choose to become lifelong learners. I have accomplished that by designing and implementing engaging and innovative curriculum that builds a relationship between myself, the individual children, the educational content, and the application of what the children are learning to their personal lives.

Within my classroom I have also mastered the art of interweaving and building understandings to bring about optimal learning and retention. I have applied these ideas as a classroom teacher, new teacher trainer and supervisor, professional development provider, parent education mentor, and earth science mentor. One of my greatest passions is to support others in finding ways to connect with the materials I present and to discover their own passions.

As a retiree, I am willing to provide you with written curriculum or have a phone conversation with you to discuss your needs. The positive responses I have received from teachers, year after year, indicate to me that teachers are adapting and using the ideas and materials, which I have shared. Often teachers have been inspired enough to take related college courses and family vacations to enhance their understandings and to provide a richer environment for the children and adults they teach.
